Mini Electric Cars a reality?

Tesla Roadster I’ve been thinking about mini electric cars ever since gas prices started skyrocketing. I mean how can you be peaceful, serene and prosperous if your worried about your gasoline sucking mini-van like me.

The dream of mini electric cars is no longer just a dream thanks to some the people at Tesla Motors who have begun limited production on their mini electric cars, the Tesla Roadster . Not only can this car go from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds but it has a top speed of 125 mph! And all that without a drop of gasoline, and the car is dead sexy to boot!  Man do I want one of these or what!  But at a current price tag of 100k, I don’t think my desire for fuel economy will extend that far.

mini electric cars Another manufacturer that is serious about mini electric cars is Hybrid Technologies .  These are the people who developed the Smart Car.  They announced recently that their all-electric, BMW AG Mini Cooper is in production. Now this car can reach speeds of up to 80 miles per hour, can go from 0 to 60 in about 6.0 seconds.  Nice!  The price for one of these wonders is currently around 50k which make it twice as affordable as the Tesla but still to expensive for most.

So mini electric cars are no longer in the distant future, they can be had right now, for a price.  A rather steep price I must say.

For those of us looking for less costly alternatives,  we can always settle for a nice economy carA cars best gas mileage is often dependant on how the car is driven.  A lead-footed driver is going not going to be able to coax a cars best gas mileage out of any vehicle no matter how economical the car is. If you are looking for a reasonable alternative to those pricey mini electric cars, check out Economy Car Bargains where you will can the best economy cars at the most economical prices.  If you purchase one of these cars, remember a cars best gas mileage will depend on how you drive the car.

So is a mini electric car in your future?  I think that the probability is pretty high although I think it may take a few years for the technology to come down enough in price to make it affordable to the general public.  For now, the only people who will be able to afford these cars are those who have been able to attain peace and serenity through prosperity.

I’m working on it every day.  Are you?
